First off, I can't possibly thank you all enough for all your help. After many years we are finally ready for a major version release. And now hopefully I can just play the game for a bit. ![]()
I have one last favor to ask: Can somebody here confirm that the win/source download OK before I make the announcement on oook? (I don't have much faith in my development abilities these days, and I just want to be confident that the zip files are good or I post something with an embarrasing mistake)
I only had minor changes since the last beta release
I added some more colors colors, and modified many of the shades to make them more distinct. (I mostly want to make sure these come through clearly on other OSs.)
I made some of the "A" uniques more rare.
Updated the help filed and a couple other informational files.
Also, on the splash screen I gave Diego top billing for this version. He did most of the development for this version, so it seemed appropriate.

There is a new version, an SDL version for Linux compiled by Nick McConnell (maintainer of FAangband).

There is also a pre-WIP version of NPP 051, but as the name warns, it is unplayable. It is just out there as a backup in case my harddrive crashes. I am still on track for an August 1 release of NPP 0.5.1WIP, which incorporates tens of thousands of lines of code from the latest version of Angband 3.1.2v2beta.
