root text files issues (utf-16,etc)

can someone upload the text files in the root, saved as UTF-8 not UTF-16 (there are 3-4 of them)

If it was not for Libre Office Writer I would not have been able to view or convert them

what about that compile.txt I heard about, my system did not have qt5 and it also does not have qmake-qt5 (or qmake-qt4) just qmake for the last version of qt installed (seen this in another post, thanks alot for that btw)

BTW: compiles and runs well on Raspbian on Raspberry Pi, 1-2 hours to compile tho... (1 I think). Get the same missing player graf files, maybe its time for 8.0.5 release

Cheers

Paul

Agreed.  8.0.5 is coming out today. smile

I can upload a set of simple txt files.  UFT-16 is the only way a single file works on both windows and the MAC OS.

Re: root text files issues (utf-16,etc)

there are 6 .txt files and 2 QT files for qmake. I can read the 2 QT files but only the .txt files "AUTHORS.txt", "COPYRIGHT Info.txt" and "readme.txt"

Any editor that reads UTF-16 should be able to save as UTF-8. You only _need_ UTF-16 for non-ascii languages, like Russian, Japanese, Korean etc

BTW: NPPchanges.txt has the wrong version for the latest changes in 8.0.5
