NPP Comp 114

Over at .oook Nick just started a NPP Competition.  A hobbit druid, the goal is to kill at least one of as many monster races as possible.

Re: NPP Comp 114

what a cool competition!  there are definitely some deeper monsters I routinely run away from, will have to confront them now

Re: NPP Comp 114

How is NPP without quests?  I did that because some monster races suddenly become easy to kill during level quests.

I want to try this competition.  I am thinking it is best to just get through stat gain before worrying about turn count or # of monster races killed.

Re: NPP Comp 114

It's a lot different without quests!  I'm still trying to figure out the right pace to dive.  So far I haven't been going out of the way to hunt monsters, I was hoping all the low level monsters will still show up later, in vaults or something.

Re: NPP Comp 114

Just a thought on the comp - I believe NPP uses a "No wimpy monsters" code, and as such, the really weak monsters will eventually stop showing up... I believe that some mid level hounds and trolls are about as easy as it gets down in the deepest levels.

can anyone confirm?
